Plan Your Visit

We would be glad to welcome you this Lord’s Day.

What to Expect

Lord’s Day Morning Service

Our Lord’s Day morning service at Spirit of Life Reformed Baptist Church is family integrated: children remain with their families throughout the main worship service. We sing together, pray, read the Scriptures, and hear God’s Word preached. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Lord’s Day morning.

There is no dress code. When you arrive, simply come in and sit wherever you feel most comfortable.

Bibles and Pastoral Prayer

We primarily read from the English Standard Version (ESV), and we also use the New American Standard Bible (NASB). We have plenty of Bibles available for use at the church.

The Valley of Vision is used in connection with the pastoral prayers during our Lord’s Day morning service, and copies are available for visitors and congregation members to use. If you would like your own copy, we do have copies available for purchase from the church.

Fellowship after the Service

After the morning service there is a warm time of fellowship together, with refreshments. Please do stay and talk with us if you are able.

Lord’s Day Evening Service

This is a shorter, one-hour service which includes singing, Bible reading, prayer and the sermon. During this service, our prayers are especially centred on the work of international missions and local evangelism. We also pray specifically for local churches and for individuals who are facing persecution.

The Treasury

In the foyer you will find The Treasury — a selection of Christian literature kept there for anyone who would like to read it. Alongside books there are magazines and articles, newspapers and other publications, tracts and pamphlets, all of them Christian in character and provided free of charge.

Please help yourself to tracts and pamphlets, and to any other material you would find useful to take away and read. Some items are lent rather than given; if you borrow one of those, simply return it when you have finished so that others may benefit from it too.

Catechism Class

Catechism Class meets every Lord’s Day morning at 9:30am, and all are welcome to attend.

The class is currently working through Fundamentals of the Faith, a course associated with Pastor John MacArthur and Grace Community Church. Across thirteen lessons it considers the great questions and doctrines of the Christian faith — who God is and what He is like, the work of Christ, salvation, prayer in the believer’s life, the body of Christ, fellowship and worship, spiritual gifts, miracles, healings and tongues, and knowing and doing God’s will — together with other foundational areas of Christian doctrine and practice.

Each lesson joins foundational biblical truth to personal obedience and Christian service. The class is useful both to newer believers who are building a foundation, and to mature Christians who would value refreshing their understanding of these doctrines and practical questions.

Little Arrows

While Catechism Class is running in the main chapel, Little Arrows Bible Class runs for primary-age children in Joy’s Room. The children are currently learning about Heroes of the Faith, including biblical figures such as Noah, Daniel and Joshua.

Once Catechism Class and Little Arrows have finished, the children join the main worship service with their families.
